The Gold band is perfect to stack with other rings of on its own for a delicate effect.
It is also sold a lot as a ring stopper for bigger rings. Check our selection of plain silver or gold rings.
It is made of 18ct gold plated on sterling silver 925 with a 2.5 microns which are the layer of the gold on top of the silver.
Note: It is not plated on metal, but solid sterling silver for a nice long lasting quality.
But remember it is still a plating and it needs to be treated as such so extra care should be taken, because if neglected may start fading with time.
We recommend not to be worn when showering or exercising.
This ring is one size only fitting most fingers size from 4 to 9.
It will come nicely packed in a Magpie's Loot box.
We donate £1 for every jewellery piece sold from our Honeycomb Collection to The Bumblebee Conservation Trust, an organisation which does vital work to halt and reverse dramatic declines in the UK’s bumblebee population. The bumblebees play an essential role in the pollination of crops for food as well as wildflowers, but unfortunately more and more species are threatened with national extinction in the UK.
“There is one masterpiece, the hexagonal cell, that touches perfection.
No living creature, not even man, has achieved, in the centre of his sphere, what the bee has achieved in her own: and were someone from another world to descend and ask of the earth the most perfect creation of the logic of life, we should needs have to offer the humble comb of honey.”
- Maurice Maeterlinck, The Life Of The Bee, 1924
The most characteristic feature of the Honeycomb Collection is the unique shape of the gems that embellish our jewellery designs. Our signature hexagonal cut is very rare among classic gemstone cuts. For this reason all the stones have to be custom cut, giving each and every piece in the collection a distinctive look.
The concept for our very first collection was conceived in the summer 2014, shortly after Francesca, the founder of Magpie’s Loot, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl called Maya (Maya the Bee, you guessed it right;)
With the initial idea in mind she approached her partner Martin, an illustrator and printmaker, who then designed the core elements of the collection – the signature hexagonal cell, tiny bee charm and the beautiful bumblebee. Using these three key elements Francesca was able to create an astounding ensemble of seventy original pieces of jewellery, which today form the Honeycomb Collection.
